SUMMARY:Stand Up Paddleboard (Sheltered Water) Coach Training
DESCRIPTION:The two day British Canoeing Stand Up Paddleboard Sheltered Water Training is an ideal award for anyone wanting a formal and regulated qualification coaching SUP in a sheltered water environment\, introducing fundamental skills up to 200 metres from the bank and up to force 3 winds. \nYou will coach paddle-boarders in the sheltered water environment. This will include coaching beginners new to the sport\, or paddlers looking to develop their skills as well as tactics. \nDURATION: \nRun over 2 days the Discipline Specific Training focuses on HOW to coach the WHAT (discipline specific skills) and WHERE you will be coaching. The training explores how to coach technical and tactical skills. The course will help you to plan and deliver safe\, enjoyable\, progressive coaching sessions and explore specifics to help you coach typical learners in the Sheltered Water Environment on a SUP. \nYou will also be supported in evolving your personal coaching development plan to enable you to take your learning into practice after the course. \nYou can look at a Sample Programme here. \nPRE-REQUISITES: \nFull Home Nation Association Membership \nCompleted British Canoeing Coach Core training or an existing UKCC Level 2 Coach (or you can APL but you will need to speak to British Canoeing directly- click here) \nThere are no formal Personal Performance Award or Safety Award requirements\, however\, to get the best from your course you need to feel comfortable in or on your craft and be able to independently paddle on sheltered water. SUMMARY:British Canoeing Paddlesport Coach Assessment
DESCRIPTION:The Paddlesport Coach builds on the foundation coaching skills learnt at Paddlesport Instructor. The award is relevant to potential coaches from all paddlesport disciplines including coaches who may work with competitive and recreational paddlers\, it is available as bank- and boat-based options. \nDURATION: \n1 day Assessment after a period of consolidation \nPRE-REQUISITES: \nPrior to your Coach Award Assessment you are required to have completed a number of prerequisites. \nSpecific details (and acceptable alternatives) are provided in the Coach Award Course Guide. Here is a summary of the requirements: \n  \n\nRegistration;\nCoach Award eLearning;\nCoach Award Core Training;\nCoach Award Discipline Specific Training;\nRelevant Leadership Award for some disciplines.\n\nThe following minimum standards of deployment: \n\nIn date First Aid Training;\nSafeguarding Training;\nFull National Association Membership;\nAged 16 or over at the time of assessment (18 for Advanced Water options).\n\nOnce all prerequisites are in place you need Delivery Centre approval to proceed to assessment. Further details are available from your Delivery Centre. You MUST take the following paperwork to your assessment: \n\nCompleted Assessment Discussion Task (see overleaf for details);\nLogbook of experience (see overleaf for details);\nEvidence of your Delivery Centre approval for assessment\n\nDETAILS: \nPaddlesport Coaches will be able to run independent coaching sessions\, and deliver progressive session building on a variety of skills in any type of Kayak or Open Canoe.
